Khalid Abdullah’s Group 1 winner QUIFF (Sadler’s Wells) has been retired.
Racing Manager Teddy Grimthorpe announced that the Sir Michael Stoute-trained
four-year-old had been sent to the breeding shed after a disappointing seasonal
bow when fourth in the Gordon Richards S. (Eng-G3) at Sandown. That was her
first start since finishing runner-up to Rule of Law (Kingmambo) in the St Leger
(Eng-G1) last September. She previously won the Yorkshire Oaks (Eng-G1) by 11
lengths.
“Quiff has been retired to stud where she will make a lovely broodmare,”
Grimthorpe told the Racing Post. “She was a great filly and her performance in
the Yorkshire Oaks was utterly devastating.”
