A field of eight has been entered for Saturday’s $100,000 Morvich H. (G3)
going about 6 1/2 furlongs on Santa Anita’s downhill turf, and GERONIMO (Chi)
(Gold Tribute) is our pick for the win. Trained by John Sadler, the chestnut
gelding owns victories over the course and distance, and most recently ran second by
a head in the Blue Jay Way S. on October 1. He’s earned triple-digit BRIS E2
Pace ratings from his last three and will have Kent Desormeaux in the irons.

COURAGEOUS KING (Elusive Quality) posted a 103 BRIS Speed rating for his win
in the Green Flash H. last out while making his turf debut. The bay
four-year-old could continue to show much more on the green and will have Tyler
Baze aboard.

The Jeff Mullins-trained KING ROBYN (Robyn Dancer) is the likely pacesetter
and could lead all the way to the wire. The bay gelding returns to the turf here
off a nice third in a Fairplex stakes and has been working well for his return.

SHADOW OF ILLINOIS (Illinois Storm) could offer some value in this one off a
seventh in the Blue Jay Way, but was only three lengths back at the wire in that
one. He’s finished close in his past three and could easily win here if he
returns to the form that saw him winning the San Simeon H. (G3) in April.

TSIGANE (Fr) (Anabaa) likes the distance (3-2-1-0) and Santa Anita turf (3-1-1-0), but
finished well back in his last one, the Del Mar Breeders’ Cup H. (G2) and is
returning here off a 55-day layoff. He might not have enough for the win, but
should still be included in the exotics. JUNGLE PRINCE (Sir Cat) will be tough
to deny from off the pace if he can transfer his recent dirt form — won the
Governor’s Cup H. on the dirt at Fairplex — back to the green.

MIGHTY BEAU (Rainbow Prospect) and ROYAL PLACE (Out of Place) both look out
of their class in this one, and we can’t recommend.
