Sanford Robbins et al's WONDER LADY ANNE L (Real Quiet) waited beneath a

patient Cornelio Velasquez and took over in the stretch en route to a 2

3/4-length tally in Saturday's $196,000

Demoiselle S. (G2) for two-year-old

fillies at Aqueduct. Wait a While (Maria's Mon) broke to the early lead and

held the advantage through pedestrian fractions of :24 2/5, :49 4/5 and 1:14 4/5,

with Cinderella's Dream (Prime Timber) loosely in tow and the Richard Dutrow Jr.-trained Wonder Lady Anne L racing wide throughout. She came three wide into the

stretch and drew away in the end to complete the 1 1/8-mile affair in 1:52 4/5

over a fast track.

"I told Cornelio that I didn't want her to go out after the lead; we wanted

her to relax in the first part," Dutrow said. "He got her to settle nicely, and he

worked out a great trip. I don't know what we'll do with her next."

Wonder Lady Anne L left the gate as the 10-1 longshot and returned $23, $8.90

and $4.30 while leading exotics of $75 (exacta) and $244 (trifecta).

Cinderella's Dream came home second to give back $3.90 and $2.70 at almost 2-1

while Wait a While held on to third, paying $3.30 at 3-1. Love Locket (Thunder

Gulch) finished another 5 1/2 lengths back and was followed by Better Now

(Thunder Gulch)

Bred in Kentucky by Dan White and Highland Farm, the bay miss is out of the

unraced mare Ancho (Wild Zone) and counts herself as a half-sibling to a

yearling colt named Couley Creek (Pikepass) and a weanling colt by Leestown. This was

Wonder Lady Anne L's first stakes victory, increasing her earnings to $160,780

with a line of 7-2-0-3. The $8,000 OBS August yearling purchase comes off

a third-place outing in the Tempted S. (G3).
