Apprentice jockey Josh Radosevich died Wednesday from injuries suffered in an
accident during the 3RD race at Beulah Park. The 16-year-old rider was
pronounced dead at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Radosevich was aboard NYOKA (Cobra King) when his mount apparently broke a
front leg while racing on the lead and fell. The young rider, who is the son of
horseman Joe Radosevich, began riding last month and had compiled 14 wins at
Beulah as well as five wins at Mountaineer in West Virginia. Nyoka was
euthanized.
Jockey Jorge Collzao Jr. also fell when his horse, HUBBLE THE CHARMER
(Hubble), ran into the fallen horse and rider. Collazo was taken to Grant
Medical Center and released.
Beulah and Thistledown in Cleveland canceled the remainder of their Wednesday
cards.
