Singletary retired to Cardiff Stud

Singletary will begin his new career in California

Little Red Feather’s SINGLETARY (Sultry Song), the 2004 Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) winner, has been
retired and will enter stud at Cardiff Stud Farms near Creston,
California. He goes to the breeding shed with a 22-8-5-3 record and
$1,754,312 in earnings from four seasons of racing.

Singletary finished off the board only six times during his career and
really came on in 2004. He started off the year with a win in the Thunder Road
H. and a runner-up in the Frank E. Kilroe Mile H. (G2). After winning the San Francisco Breeders’ Cup Mile H. (G2),
the Kentucky-bred finished second in the Shoemaker
Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) and a close third in the Oak Tree Breeders’ Cup Mile (G2) before capturing
the Breeders’ Cup Mile by a half-length at Lone Star Park.

The Don Chatlos Jr.-trained five-year-old captured this year’s Arcadia H. (G2)
and also
won the Oak Tree Breeders’ Cup Mile. He finished out his career with an an
eighth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Belmont Park on October 29.

Singletary will stand for a $5,000 fee.
