Tattersalls (Ireland) stages the last flat auction of the year on Monday, when the one-day Breeders Flat Sale sees
more than 230 lots
offered at the Fairyhouse venue. Most of that number is made up
of yearlings, mares and foals, with stallions such as Barathea
(Ire), Cape Cross (Ire), Danehill Dancer, Galileo (Ire),
Montjeu (Ire), Orpen, Royal Applause (GB) and Singspiel (Ire)
represented.
Barathea
(Ire) is responsible for Hip No. 106, a
yearling filly out of a sister to the Park Hill S. (Eng-G3) heroine Discreet
Brief (Darshaan) from the family of Key Change (Darshaan), Kahyasi
and Milan (GB) consigned by Grangecon Stud. Others to note
include Mountarmstrong Stud’s Hip 122, a Danehill Dancer yearling filly out of a half-sister to the smart stakes winners Housamix
and Housa Dancer (Fr) (Fabulous Dancer); Hip 205, a weanling filly, from the draft
of Colbinstown Lodge, by Montjeu out of a half-sister to Great Dane from the family of Croco
Rouge and the outstanding
broodmare Alidiva (Ire) (Chief Singer); and Rathbarry Stud’s Hip 204, a Noverre
colt from the world-renowned family of Bold Fact, wonder-mare
Hasili (Ire)(Kahyasi), Three Valleys (Diesis [GB]) and Leroidesanimaux (Brz).
Of the horses in training, Carrigbeg Stud’s Hip 13 is the once-raced
three-year-old filly Jewel on the Nile (Desert Style), who is a half-sister to the July S.
(Eng-G3) winner Fallow and smart Hong Kong performer Lucky Six from the family of
Jersey S. (Eng-G3) scorer Miss Silca Key (Ire) (Welsh Saint).
