The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) has opened voting for its
seventh annual “Moment of the Year” on the organization’s website. Racing fans can select, from 12

Giacomo (Holy Bull) pulls a stunning upset in the Kentucky Derby (G1) at
50-1.
Afleet Alex (Northern Afleet) miraculously recovers from near-disaster to
capture the Preakness (G1).
Afleet Alex wins the Belmont S. (G1) going away by seven lengths.

American Oaks (G1.)

Powerscourt (GB) (Sadler’s Wells) atones for his 2004 disqualification in
the Arlington Million (G1).

Fans 18 years and older can register to vote online at www.ntra.com, where a complete set of rules is
available. The deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. (EST) on January 16,
2006, and the winning moment will be announced at the Eclipse Awards ceremony on
January 23 in Beverly Hills, California.

“The NTRA Moment of the Year gives fans a voice and a sense of ownership at
the Eclipse Awards,” NTRA official Keith Chamblin said. “It allows them to
salute the people, horses and memories that make our sport so appealing.”
