Grade 1 winner NOTHING TO LOSE (Sky Classic) has been purchased by Walter Alteri’s
Newlands
Thoroughbreds in Australia from Ken and Sarah Ramsey and will begin his stud
career when the
Southern Hemisphere season opens in August.

The six-year-old bay won the Palm
Beach S. (G3) and
the Tropical Park Derby (G3) at three, then added victories in the Shadwell
Turf Mile (G1) and
Fourstardave H. (G2) at four. He had not raced since finishing sixth in the Citation H.
(G1) in November
of 2004.

Nothing to Lose retired with a record of 15-6-3-1 and earnings of $809,210.

“With the ridiculous
prices being paid of late for stallion prospects that haven’t won at Grade 1
level, I think we have done very well to obtain a horse of this caliber,” Alteri
said. “He is also 16.2
hands high, was a
two-year-old winner and had such a powerful turn of foot, we believe he is a
great choice for
mares in Australia.”

A stud fee has not yet been announced.
