A field of eight fillies and mares will go postward Wednesday for the
$100,000 Wilshire H. (G3) on Hollywood Park’s opening day program. TICKER TAPE
(GB) (Royal Applause [GB]) comes into the race with the most experience over
Hollywood’s turf (6-1-3-1) and is the class of the race. Trained by James
Cassidy, the multiple Grade 1 winner exits a close sixth in the Santa Ana H.
(G2) at Santa Anita on March 26. The five-year-old mare has fared well at this
distance before, winning the Tuzla H. three back, and will likely offer a strong late kick under jockey David Flores.

BEAUTYANDTHEBEAST (GB) (Machiavellian) comes off a good third in the Santa
Ana, losing that one by only a half-length to Silver Cup (Ire) (Almutawakel [GB])
after her jockey Garrett Gomez lost the whip in her third North American start.
The Neil Drysdale trainee earned a 100 BRIS Speed figure when capturing her
first start in the United States and the four-year-old filly is a strong
contender to take it all here. Victor Espinoza has the call.

HEAVENLY RANSOM (Red Ransom) was able to wire her last one, a one-mile
allowance/optional claiming test, to give the four-year-old her fourth win
in five starts. Given the lack of early speed here, the Thomas Bell-trained bay
has a shot to go uncontested on the lead with Jon Court.

A Group 1 winner in Chile, TANTA SUERTE (Chi) (Stuka) suffered her first loss
in her final start in her homeland last out. She will be making her first
appearance in the
United States from the shedrow of Laura de Seroux and while she is bred to run long, the four-year-old chestnut has posted three victories
at a mile. Her only possible setback could be whether or not she can perform up
to par off a 236-day layoff. Consider for the gimmicks.

DREAM LADY (Old Trieste) exits a good front-running win against allowance
rivals last out over Santa Anita’s turf. The Bobby Frankel trainee was second in
her stakes debut in the Lake George S. (G3) last July and will be making her
second blacktype start here, following three well-placed outings against lesser
company. Although she has some class concerns, Dream Lady could grab part.

DREAMS COME TRUE (Fr) (Zafonic) exits a 1 1/2-length score in the Sun City H.
at Turf Paradise. She is two for three at a mile, but will be facing a class
test. We will go against. MEGEC BLIS (Ire) (Soviet Star) has yet to produce
results against similar company and we will take a stand against her for now. FLIP
FLOP (Fr) (Zieten) has not done anything in her last three for us to recommend
her.
