Kentucky Derby (G1) winner BARBARO (Dynaformer) continues to do well as of 11
a.m. (EDT) Friday, according to Dr. Dean Richardson, chief of surgery at the
George D. Widener Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania School of
Veterinary Medicine’s New Bolton Center.
“He looks good, everything is fine and his appetite is particularly good,”
Richardson said.
Barbaro remains in intensive care five days after having major orthopedic
surgery to repair multiple fractures and a dislocated right hind ankle. The
three-year-old colt suffered the injuries during the early stages of last Saturday’s Preakness S. (G1).
