Ireland hosted its first breeze-up sale Monday when the County Kilkenny-based
Goresbridge Sales Company offered a 72-strong catalog of two-year-olds in
training at Gowran Park. Donall Kinsella snapped up the session’s top lot when
paying 40,000 for Callas Stables’ Hip No. 24, a gelding by Val Royal (Fr) out of
a full sister to Grade 3 winner Premier Property (Out of Place).
Four lots later, Pat Flynn went to 31,000 for Gilbinstown Stud’s filly by
Cape Cross (Ire). She hails from the family of Mezzogiorno (Unfuwain), third in
the Epsom Oaks (Eng-G1) and dam of Blandford S. (Eng-G2) winner Monturani
(Indian Ridge).
