HEALTHY ADDICTION (Boston Harbor) will seek a second consecutive victory in
the $250,000 Lady’s Secret Breeders’ Cup H. (G2) on Sunday. The five-year-old
mare will enter the 1 1/16-mile event in good form, taking the Clement L. Hirsch
H. (G2) at Del Mar by a comfortable 1 3/4-length margin in her most recent
outing, and the John Sadler charge likes Santa Anita’s main track, winning five
of 10 attempts with four seconds. Victor Espinoza will ride the 120-pound
highweight, who will face four rivals, including three-time Grade 1 heroine STAR
PARADE (Arg) (Parade Marshal).
Star Parade finished second by a half-length to her main rival in last year’s
Lady’s Secret and owns two Grade 1 wins at Santa Anita. Trained by Darrell
Vienna, the classy seven-year-old mare has earned more than $1.2 million and
owns two stakes wins at 1 1/16 miles in 2006. Regular rider Martin Pedroza has
the mount. Millionaire HOLLYWOOD STORY (Wild Rush), who hails from the John
Shirreffs stable, will attempt to make an impact from off the pace. The
five-year-old mare owns a pair of Grade 1 wins at Hollywood Park, but Hollywood
Story will be looking for her first win at Santa Anita in her eighth career
attempt.
The Bobby Frankel-trained NEUILLY (Brz) (Royal Academy), winner of the
one-mile Adoration H. at Del Mar last time out, will break from the rail under
Alex Solis and carries 114 pounds. To her outside comes DOWNTHEDUSTYROAD (Storm
and a Half), Jon Court, 110; Healthy Addiction; Star Parade, 118; and Hollywood
Story, David Flores, 118.
