Multiple stakes winner MIDNIGHT SHADOW (Trajectory) is the 2-1 morning-line
favorite for Wednesday’s C$125,000 Victorian Queen S. at Woodbine. Trained by
Robert Tiller, the dark bay filly won three in a row, including the Nandi
S. and Shady Well S. on the inner dirt track. In her most recent outing,
Midnight Shadow finished third as the odds-on favorite in the Muskoka S. on the
newly installed Polytrack. She has been assigned top weight of 123 pounds and will
be ridden by Raymond Sabourin.
The restricted, six-furlong race for two-year-old fillies also includes
DASHINGALLTHEWAY (Kiridashi), who broke her maiden at first asking from well off
the pace for trainer Mark Casse. The bay is now trained by Lorne Richards, who
has given the mount to Emma-Jayne Wilson.
Other contenders include GRANDY’S GLORY (Bold Executive), who dueled for the
early lead before finishing fourth in the Nandi, and MISS STUCK UP (One Way
Love), a first-out maiden winner who finished sixth in the Muskoka.
