Richard, Bertram & Elaine Klein’s homebred CHANGE UP (Distorted Humor) raced
four or five wide during Churchill Downs’ $114,300

Pocahontas S. (G3)
on Sunday, before driving to the wire a two-length
winner under Garrett Gomez. Trained by Steve Flint, the juvenile miss was just
in behind the pacesetting Mistical Plan (Game Plan) as that one set splits of
1:10 1/5 and 1:22 4/5, and quickly took over to post the final time of 1:35 4/5
on the fast main track.

Sent off the near 5-2 favorite, Change Up was worth $6.60, $3.80 and $3 to
her backers while starting the $30.60 exacta, $188.80 trifecta and $1,552.60
superfecta (3-8-2-4). Mistical Plan managed to hold second by a neck over Lady
Joanne (Orientate), paying $4.20 and $3.80 at 3-1, while show gave back $4.40 at
7-1. It was another seven lengths farther back to Pro Pink (Touch Gold) in
fourth, who was followed by Mostbeautifulstorm (Storm Boot), Baroness Thatcher
(Johannesburg), Taletobetold (Tale of the Cat), Expertise (Hennessy) and Lisa M
(Banker’s Gold). Cohiba Miss (Cat Thief) and Littlebitabling (Carson City) were
both withdrawn.

Change Up earned her second stakes win here after taking the Mountaineer
Juvenile Fillies S. in August by 4 1/2 lengths. Last out, the chestnut lass was
off-the-board in the Arlington-Washington Breeders’ Cup Lassie S. (G3), and now
owns a 5-3-1-0 record with $160,759 in lifetime earnings. The Kentucky-bred
filly is the second registered foal out of the stakes-winning Round Robin (Mt.
Livermore) and has two Smart Strike half-sisters, a yearling and a weanling.
