Elusive City colt tops Tattersalls December

Last updated: 12/18/07 5:18 PM

Fairyhouse was the scene of a low-key conclusion to the 2007 European Flat

Sales Season on Tuesday as the Tattersalls Ireland December Flat Sale witnessed

a clearance rate of only 35 percent for its quiet second session and 45 percent

overall.

It was a weanling son of Elusive City from the draft of Rahinane Stud who was

the center of attention. Consigned as Hip No. 447 and from the family of

multiple Group 3-placed Counsel's Opinion (Rudimentary), the colt was secured by

Tony O'Callaghan of Tally-Ho Stud for €25,000. He is out of the unraced Champion

Tipster (Pursuit of Love).

Of the fillies on offer, JK Thoroughbreds' Hip 369, from the first crop of

Rakti, proved the main focus. The daughter of Texture (Zafonic), who is a

half-sister to Grade 2 scorer Bon Point (GB) (Soviet Star), was knocked down to

John Costello for €20,000.
