Futurity S. (G2) winner TALE OF EKATI (Tale of the Cat), who finished
sixth in the March 8 Louisiana Derby (G2) in his three-year-old debut, drilled
four furlongs out of the gate in a bullet :47 2/5 on a fast track at Palm
Meadows on Tuesday. The Barclay Tagg trainee will make his next start in
Saturday’s Wood Memorial (G1) at Aqueduct. The move was the fastest of 14 works
at the distance.
Over a fast track at Oaklawn, stakes winner ABLAZE WITH SPIRIT
(American Spirit), recently third in the WinStar Derby at Sunland Park, worked
five furlongs in 1:02 3/5 in preparation for a possible start in the April 12
Arkansas Derby (G2).
