The pace steadied at the Inglis Newmarket sale complex Tuesday when 75 mares
went under the hammer at an average of A$7,563 for total receipts of A$567,250
during the Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale general session.
From 110 catalogued, 23 were withdrawn and 12 were passed in. A pair from
Eduardo Cojuangco’s Mudgee-based Gooree Stud were among the highest-priced
mares, with the Danehill mare Miguelita, in foal to Quest for Fame (GB), sold to
Martin Hawcroft’s Bylery Stud for A$50,000. The seven-year-old, offered as Hip
No. 610, is a daughter of Nuryandra (Reference Point) and she has a 2006 filly
by Don Eduardo and a 2007 colt by the same sire.
Gooree also offered Hill of Dreams (Danehill), in foal to Strategic, and KS
Kwon of Korea signed for her at A$44,000. Paul and Lyn Makin’s reduction sale
through Kulani Park included unraced broodmare prospect Nobody Listens
(Kilimanjaro [GB]). Offered as Hip 654, she went to Stuart Ramsey, who owns
Turangga Stud, for A$50,000.
