A record-breaking renewal of the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale came
to an end Friday with a colt by Australian champion Falvelon leading the way.
Consigned by Glenlogan Park, Hip No. 804 was the second foal from Vidance
(Danehill Dancer) and hails from the extended female family of Group 2 winner
Trans Siberia and stakes winner Waikato. Tony Williams of Magic Millions signed
the ticket on behalf of New Zealand-based Gwent Holdings Ltd.
“The value at today’s sale was second to none,” said Magic Millions Managing
Director David Chester. “We had so many wonderful young prospects selling for
prices that all buyers could afford. Today’s general session wrapped up a big
week of selling comprising the National Weanling Sale and now it’s turn to focus
on the mares.”
The first session of the mare sale is set for Monday and the star attraction
is expected to be Divine Madonna (Hurricane Sky), a three-time Group 1 winner in
Australia.
“There won’t be a better racemare go under the hammer anywhere in the world
this year,” Chester commented. “She’s a wonderful mare who confirmed her place
as Australia’s star miler. No mare fresh off the track with a record like Divine
Madonna’s has ever been put up for auction. It will be an exciting day on
Monday.”
