GATORETTE (Distorted Humor) will make her stakes and two-turn debut in
Friday’s $200,000 Bonnie Miss S. (G2), and we’ll tab the speed. Trained by David Fawkes, the gray opened her racing career with a 7 1/4-length maiden special
weight victory on February 1 and followed with a 7 3/4-length thrashing of entry-level allowance rivals on March 8. Those races came at six and 7 1/2
furlongs, respectively, but Gatorette is bred to easily handle nine furlongs on
both sides of her pedigree. She earned an excellent 98 BRIS Speed rating last
time as well as strong BRIS E1 and E2 Pace numbers in both career starts, and
she’ll be the one to catch under Eibar Coa. We’ll look for her to get clear soon
after the start and leave plenty in reserve for the stretch run.

JUSTWHISTLEDIXIE (Dixie Union) is the one to beat off her 3 3/4-length
victory in the Davona Dale S. (G2) last time. Trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, the
dark bay filly owns a big seasoning edge over her main rival, winning her last
three starts over stakes competition, and Justwhistledixie will be looking for
her fifth straight score on Friday. She hasn’t been two turns, though, and
Gatorette owns a better pedigree for longer distances. Justwhistledixie will
look to rally from just off the pace under Julien Leparoux.

SHARED ACCOUNT (Pleasantly Perfect) opened her racing career with a pair of
victories at Laurel Park, but she never was a factor finishing sixth in the
Davona Dale last time. That did come around a one-turn mile, and the well-bred
filly rolled to a seven-length allowance score going two turns two starts back.
She figures to appreciate the added ground and is a threat to run better in her
second start against stakes rivals. We’ll use her in both spots under our top
choice.

CASANOVA MOVE (Langfuhr) offered a solid run for second in the Davona Dale,
and she’s eligible to grab another minor award here. The James Jerkens trainee
notched an encouraging 100 BRIS Speed rating last time.

HOPEFUL IMAGE (Gulch) will look to pick up rivals late under new rider Rene
Douglas, but we haven’t seen enough from the stakes-placed filly recently to
recommend her chances. SUZ SLEW (Statement) exits a nine-furlong maiden score
over the track, but she earned only an 87 Speed rating for that effort and may
not be fast enough to challenge in her first start against winners.
