A chestnut filly consigned by B.C.3 Thoroughbreds, agent, posted the quickest
furlong in :9 4/5 at the training preview for the Barretts March Sale of
Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training on Thursday. The daughter of Distant View,
listed as Hip No. 67, is the first foal out of Upgraded (High Yield). The
Kentucky-bred lass counts as her second dam multiple Group 2-placed stakes
winner Digitalize (Dayjur), who is a half-sister to four-time Grade 1 king Awad
(Caveat) and Grade 3 victor Rough Opening (Opening Verse).
The filly sold for $55,000 as a Keeneland September yearling.
Earlier in the training preview, Hip 10, a dark bay filly by Cactus Ridge,
breezed the fastest quarter-mile in :20 4/5. Out of the unraced Lodden Blue
(Coronado’s Quest), the Kentucky-bred miss is a granddaughter of multiple stakes
victress Lavender (Smile) and consigned by John O’Hara, agent.
The Barretts March sale is scheduled for Tuesday at 2 p.m. (PDT).
