The catalog for the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale is out now and
available from Tattersalls or Tattersalls representatives and can also be viewed
online at www.tattersalls.com. The sale features 167 two-year-olds in training,
with all horses breezing on April 30 and the one-session sale taking place on
May 1. The breeze will be broadcast live on Racing UK and videos of the
individual lots breezing will be posted on the Tattersalls website shortly after
the breeze takes place.
The catalog features two-year-olds by some of the leading British and
Irish-based stallions, including Acclamation, Cape Cross (Ire), Dalakhani,
Danehill Dancer, Dansili (GB), Indian Ridge, Invincible Spirit, Oasis Dream
(GB), Pivotal, Rock of Gibraltar (Ire) and Singspiel (Ire), while top European
and United States-based sires with two year olds cataloged include Arch, Giant’s
Causeway, Gone West, Kingmambo, Medaglia d’Oro and Mr. Greeley.
Classic and Group 1-winning first crop sires also feature prominently,
including Azamour (Ire), Dubawi, Footstepsinthesand (GB), Leroidesanimaux (Brz),
Motivator, Shamardal and Whipper while successful first crop sires of 2008
Exceed and Excel, Haafhd, Kheleyf and Refuse to Bend (Ire) all have
two-year-olds from their second crops cataloged.
The largest consignment comes from Willie Browne’s Mocklershill Stables in
Ireland, which has no less than 25 two-year-olds cataloged. Locally based
consignor Jamie Railton has nine juveniles in the sale whilst Mark Dywer’s Oaks
Farm Stables and Con Marnane’s Bansha House Stables have eight apiece.
The Guineas Breeze Up Sale offers potential purchasers the incentive of
buying a lot qualified for the innovative £500,000 Breeze Up Bonus Scheme, of
which more than 95 percent of the lots cataloged are eligible. Details can be
found at www.breezeupbonus.com.
“The Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale has very quickly established itself
as Europe’s second best breeze up sale, second only to our own Craven Breeze Up
and we are delighted with the quality of the catalog that we have managed to
assemble this year, thanks in no small part to the support of our vendors,”
Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said. “Last year’s sale was a great success
and with the added dimension of the £500,000 Breeze Up Bonus, buyers have an
added incentive to purchase a breeze up horse this year.”
