Hicklin Farms and Tom Gregerson’s LET IT ROCK (Trippi) surged to the lead in
deep stretch to take home top honors in Saturday’s $150,000

Razorback H. (G3)
at Oaklawn Park. With Terry Thompson up, the Judith
Hicklin-trained four-year-old colt rated off an early pace in :23 2/5, :47 3/5
and 1:12 2/5 before closing boldly in midstretch, splitting foes and drawing
clear late by three-quarters of a length. Let It Rock stopped the teletimer in
1:44 for 1 1/16 miles on the fast track.

Overlooked as the near 9-1 fifth choice in the field of seven, he returned
$19.60, $7.40 and $4.40. The late-running Shim’s Pride (Awesome Again), who
trailed every rival through a mile in 1:37 4/5, rallied well for runner-up
honors at 8-1 and paid $7.20 and $4.80. He edged third-placer Catmantoo (Vision
and Verse) by a neck, and it was a half-length back to pacesetter Spotsgone
(Bright Launch) in fourth. Show was worth $5 at 13-1, and the exotics totaled
$158.60 (exacta) and $1,027 (4-6-3 trifecta). Prom Shoes (Include), the slight
9-5 second choice, came next under the wire and was followed by 8-5 favorite
Jonesboro (Sefapiano) and Silver Edition (Silver Deputy).

Winner of the 2008 Shakopee S., Let It Rock notched his first graded victory
and improved his overall mark to 16-4-2-7, $201,748. He was bred in Florida by
Wiest-Heathers 05. The bay colt is out of the winning Timeless Measure (Timeless
Native), dam of the stakes-winning Kaufy Machine (Montbrook), the unraced
sophomore filly Kaufy Queen (Drewman) and the juvenile colt Kaufy Dreammachine (Montbrook).
She counts multiple stakes victress Pop Pop B. B. Gun (Red Ryder) as a
half-sister.
