Rainbow View exercises at ‘Breakfast with the Stars’
morning
Trainer John Gosden on Thursday gave RAINBOW VIEW (Dynaformer) a spin around
the famed Epsom Downs ahead of her tilt at Friday’s Epsom Oaks (Eng-G1).
Accompanied by Princess Haya of Jordan’s Coronation Cup (Eng-G1)-bound
EXPRESSO STAR (War Chant), George Strawbridge’s champion juvenile followed that
barnmate under Jimmy Fortune in a light exercise at the “Breakfast with the
Stars” morning.
“She has done her work going clear at home, so this was more for her to come
and see the place and have a sweat,” Gosden said. “I wanted to get some of the
nervous energy out of her and the instructions were to follow Expresso Star and
not join him, as I didn’t want to have a major workout and leave the Oaks behind
10 days before.
“She’s gone very nicely and was very settled, following him on the bridle
with ears pricked and went around there beautifully and switched legs. I took
advantage of the beautiful ground — when I was with Vincent O’Brien we came
here a couple of days before the race and cantered The Minstrel 32 years ago, so
I should have done it between times. She’s a fit filly, is eating well and is
happy.”
Others to work at the press gathering were Princess Haya of Jordan’s Chester
Vase (Eng-G3) third DEBUSSY (Diesis [GB]), also from the Gosden stable and the
fellow Epsom Derby (Eng-G1)-bound colts SOUTH EASTER (Galileo [Ire]) and MONTAFF
(Montjeu [Ire]).
