A well-matched field of eight fillies and mares will dash six furlongs over
the Delaware main oval in Saturday’s $150,000 Endine S. (G3).

SUNDAY GEISHA (Sunday Break [Jpn]) looks like a prime upsetter in this spot
for trainer Bruce Levine. The once-promising four-year-old filly has run
out west, raced in routes, tried synthetic strips and the turf, and is now, finally, correctly
spotted where she belongs, in turf sprints. The dark bay
has excellent early speed and a cozy rail draw on this day, and while we don’t
expect a wire job under Kendrick Carmouche in here, a nice trip just off the pace should
do the trick at a square price.

Impressive speedster KEEP THE PEACE (Touch Gold) has run into some of the
best fillies in her division for Eddie Kenneally and should enjoy the class
relief in this affair. The chestnut filly is ultra-consistent and will be nearly
impossible to keep off the board if she handles this oval. David Cohen has the
assignment.

Stakes victress PIOUS ASHLEY (Include) has really turned it around since
joining the stable of Marty Wolfson, and while the BRIS Speed numbers behind the
filly aren’t that big, she has the perfect style to rally for a small share
against this field. The chestnut is a consistent earner of solid BRIS Late Pace
numbers, and we like her to conclude some gimmicks under Anna Napravnik.

Recent Victory Ride S. (G3) runner-up BOLD UNION (Dixie Union) is peaking for
trainer Kelly Breen and is sure to be among the favorites in here, but we’re a
bit concerned about the sophomore facing elders for the first time. The fleet
Kentucky-bred should be forwardly placed early and the outside draw should be of
great benefit to her, but at short odds, we will try to beat the bay miss beneath Jose
Velez Jr.

LADY CHACE (Tiznow) has won or placed in six of seven starts in 2009, all but
one in stakes events, and rates as a logical
top-three threat in this event for trainer Steve Margolis. The four-year-old has superb tactical speed and
always has something left for the stretch, so we’ll use her in the gimmicks. CASANOVA KILLER (Storm Boot) romped to a huge win in the Jenny Wade H. last
out at Penn National, registering a career-best 100 BRIS Speed figure in the
process. The Steve Klesaris charge has done most of her best work in the
Keystone State against lesser, so we’ll have to see her do it against this kind
before backing her.

Recent Regret S. runner-up FEARLESS LEADER (Suave Prospect) is capable of a
big one when she’s at her best, but we can’t see her defeating this bunch at big
odds. IRON BUTTERFLY (Forestry) is still best known to us for running second to
champion Rags to Riches many starts back, but since she hasn’t done much to
impress us since, we’ll have to look elsewhere.
