Sullimar Stables’ homebred GET STORMY (Stormy Atlantic) extended his winning streak to
three when capturing his graded debut in Sunday’s $125,000

Bryan Station S. (G3)
at Keeneland. The Tom Bush pupil prompted the early
pace set by Major Marvel (Bernstein) through splits of :23 4/5, :48 and 1:12 4/5
on the yielding turf course, swept to the front in the stretch, and comfortably
held the late rally of Rescue Squad (Dynaformer) by 1 1/2 lengths. Ridden by
Javier Castellano, Get Stormy completed the grassy mile in 1:37 2/5 and returned
$13, $5.60 and $3.40 as the 5-1 fourth choice.

Rescue Squad, who bided his time off the pace and was still fifth in
midstretch, finished with good energy to garner runner-up honors by one length.
The 4-1 second choice yielded $5.40 and $3.80 and ended the $79 exacta. Early
stalker Kinsella (Mr. Greeley), the 2-1 favorite, overtook Major Marvel by a
neck for third, paying $3.40. The trifecta was worth $272.20, and the 6-8-4-3
superfecta totaled $1,791.40. Rounding out the order under the wire were Mikoshi
(Orientate), Strike Again (Dixie Union), El Crespo (A.P. Indy) and Cedros (Medaglia
d’Oro).

Get Stormy, who has raced exclusively on turf, was coming off a pair of
front-running scores at Saratoga. After clearing his entry-level allowance
condition on July 29 in his sixth attempt, the bay sophomore made his stakes bow
a winning one in the one-mile Lure S. on August 29. He has now compiled a record
of 11-4-2-1 with $207,559 in earnings.

Bred by Mary A. Sullivan in Kentucky, Get Stormy is out of the Kiri’s Clown
mare Foolish Gal, whose youngest progeny are a yearling colt named Foolish Tiger
(Hold That Tiger) and a weanling filly named Glory Gal (Honour and Glory). With
his fourth dam being multiple stakes heroine Amerigo’s Fancy (*Amerigo), Get
Stormy hails from the family of Grade 2 winners Tres Borrachos (Ecton Park),
Informed (Tiznow), Triple Tipple (Raise a Cup) and Summer Wind Dancer (Siberian
Summer).
