The Overbrook Farm dispersal continued to exert an influence at the Keeneland
November Breeding Stock Sale on Sunday, with a Malibu Moon weanling selling to
Total Dispersal Bloodstock for
the top price of $250,000 during the sixth session. Cataloged as Hip No. 1775,
the March 1 colt was consigned by Eaton Sales, agent for Overbrook.

The Kentucky-bred bay was produced by the unraced Storm Cat mare Restless
Cat, who is a full sister to Grade 1 hero and noted sire Hennessy. Restless Cat
is also a half-sister to Grade 1 queen Pearl City (Carson City) and multiple
Grade 3 winner Shy Tom (Blushing Groom [Fr]). This is the family of European
champion juvenile Hold That Tiger (Storm Cat), Belmont S. (G1) victor and
millionaire Editor’s Note (Forty Niner), and champion two-year-old filly Family
Style (State Dinner), among others.

Weanlings dominated Sunday’s trade by bringing the session’s top five
prices. The leading weanling filly, and second-best seller overall, was
a $230,000 daughter of Rock Hard Ten who was purchased by Mesquite
Ranch. Offered by Gainesway, agent, the February 11 Kentucky-bred is a
half-sister to impressive juvenile Buddy’s Saint (Saint Liam), winner of
the November 7 Nashua S. (G2) by 12 lengths.

The dark bay filly, Hip 1874, is out of stakes winner and Grade
1-placed Tuzia (Blushing Groom [Fr]), herself a half-sister to multiple
Grade 3 hero and classic-placed Midway Road (Jade Hunter). Further back
in the female line is multiple Grade 1 star and $2 million earner Island
Fashion (Petionville).

A weanling three-quarter brother to Grade 1-placed Liquidity (Tiznow)
went to Ben Glass, agent, for $210,000. Touring the ring as Hip 1971,
the bay Tiznow colt came from the consignment of Hidden Brook, agent.
The April 10 Kentucky-bred is the second registered foal from Crazy
Woman Creek (Wild Rush), a half-sister to Liquidity, and hails from the
family of Grade 2 winner Bosque Redondo (Mane Minister).

Whisper Hill Farm snapped up a Bluegrass Cat filly from the consignment of
Eaton Sales, agent, for $200,000. Hip 2082 is a half-sister to Hong Kong Horse
of the Year Electronic Unicorn (Housebuster) and Kentucky Oaks (G1) heroine
Blushing K.D. (Blushing John), and she is also a three-quarter sister to
Canadian champion turf mare Ambitious Cat (Storm Cat). Their dam is the winning
Roberto mare Lilac Garden. The dark bay filly was foaled in Kentucky on February
26.

Rounding out the top five was Hip 1717, a dark bay Harlan’s Holiday colt who
commanded $180,000 from A Delaware Corp. Consigned by Mill Ridge Sales, agent,
the March 16 Kentucky-bred is the second registered foal from the winning
Motivated Sreva (Lear Fan), who is a half-sister to Grade 2 victor Adore the
Gold (Formal Gold).

The day’s joint best-selling mares each brought $170,000. Hancock and Adger
went to that price for Hip 1732, OCEAN MOON (Malibu Moon), from the Highclere
Sales, agent, consignment. The winning
three-year-old, who is a half-sister to current multiple Group 2-placed juvenile
King Ledley (Stormin Fever), is carrying her first foal to First Samurai on an
April 9 cover. Ocean Moon was produced by the winning Mt. Kobla (Mt. Livermore),
herself a half-sister to reigning Florida Derby (G1) hero Quality Road (Elusive
Quality).

Also fetching $170,000 was the stakes-winning FAST DEAL (Grand Slam), who was
knocked down to Spendthrift Farm. Consigned by Eaton Sales, agent for the
Overbrook dispersal, as Hip 2004, the six-year-old mare was bred to Lemon Drop
Kid on a February 18 cover but is believed to have aborted the foal. Fast Deal, who earned $273,058
from a 40-5-9-7 record, is out of the Storm Cat mare Catty and traces to an
excellent Phipps Family line. Among the luminaries on her catalog page is Hall
of Famer Inside Information (Private Account), the dam of champion Smuggler
(Unbridled) and the second dam of current Pennsylvania Derby (G2) and Ohio Derby
(G2) hero Gone Astray (Dixie Union).

On Sunday, 236 horses were sold for $9,695,900, a decline of 10.5 percent
from the corresponding session last year, when $10,835,200 was realized by 203
horses. The average plunged 23 percent, from $53,375 to $41,084, while the median
