Nine juvenile fillies have been entered to go one mile at Delta Downs Friday
evening in the $500,000 Delta Princess S. (G3), and TRUTH AND JUSTICE (Yes It’s
True) appears to be the class of the field. The Kelly Breen trainee has captured
four of her six lifetime starts, including her last three against stakes
company. The bay lass recorded front-running victories in the Sorority S. at
Monmouth Park, Presque Isle Debutante S. at Presque Isle Downs and My Trusty Cat
S. over this dirt track. The only knock against the talented miss is that she’s
never raced beyond seven-eighths, but we don’t think the extra furlong will make
that much difference. Truth and Justice will keep regular rider Joe Bravo
aboard.

JOANIE’S CATCH (First Tour) will make her first foray outside of Florida in
this spot, and the Barry Rose charge could provide a mild upset. The chestnut
filly has been knocking heads with stakes rivals at Calder in her past six
starts, and earned a dominating 4 1/2-length score in the Brave Raj S. while
going a mile and 70 yards in late September. She earned a career-best 93 BRIS
Speed rating for that effort and will get the services of jockey John Velazquez
for this one.

DREWMAN PRINCE (Drewman) might be the best chance for a price in this race at
15-1 on the morning line. The bay juvenile took her maiden debut by 6 3/4
lengths over the track while going this race’s distance of one mile. Her Speed
number (83) wasn’t very impressive, but that maiden was conducted over a muddy,
sealed surface, and the weather forecast is calling for more of the same Friday
evening. The Olivo Inirio runner could really shine in this spot under local
reinsman Wilfredo Lozano Jr.

BEST REWARD (Grand Reward) broke her maiden by a neck on the all-weather at
Presque Isle in September, switched to Delta’s dirt and ran second by a neck in
her first try against allowance rivals, then filled the third spot against Truth
and Justice in the My Trusty Cat last out. Also trained by Inirio, the bay lass
could stake her claim on the top three under Orlando Mojica. BELLA DIAMANTE
(Lost Soldier) actually did one better than Best Reward in the My Trusty Cat,
running second, and the maiden winner earned a nice 104 BRIS Late Pace figure
for her swift last-to-second rally. The extra distance here could be just what
she needs to run them all down with Donald Simington returning the saddle.

WOMAN SOLDIER (Werblin) has won her last two, including setting a new track
record at Delta for an allowance victory last out. She would have to jump up in
a big way to challenge in this one, but stranger things have happened. Consider
for the exotics. LELA (Trippi), fourth in the My Trusty Cat, actually held the
runner-up spot during the stretch run, but faded late in that seven-furlong
test. The mile might be a bit too long for the Steve Asmussen charge, so we’ll
just tab for the bottom of the gimmicks at best.

QUIET TEMPER (Quiet American) has yet to break her maiden from three tries
and hasn’t competed since October 4. She has faced good company in all three
starts, finishing second each time, but she drew the far outside post for her
two-turn debut. THE RUMOR’S TRUE (Kafwain) just doesn’t look fast enough to threaten.
