Multiple graded stakes winner PARADING (Pulpit) has been retired and will
stand at Claiborne Farm in 2010, according to farm representative Bernie Sams.
He will stand for a fee of $3,500.

The Phipps homebred, who was also raised at Claiborne, earned $530,046 from a
21-7-5-2 line over four seasons of racing, winning on dirt, turf
and all weather. His first stakes victory came in the Volponi S. at Belmont in
2008, and Parading enjoyed his best year in 2009, winning the Ben Ali S. (G3) at
Keeneland by 7 1/2 lengths prior to a victory in the grassy Dixie S. (G2) on the
Preakness (G1) undercard. The five-year-old also posted fourth-place finishes in
Pacific Classic (G1) and Goodwood S. (G1) before rounding out his racing career
with a second in the Fayette S. (G2) on October 31.

By leading sire Pulpit, Parading is out of Grade 3-placed On Parade (Storm
Cat), who is a full sister to champion Storm Flag Flying. His second dam is
four-time Grade 1 heroine My Flag (Easy Goer), and his third dam is unbeaten
champion and Broodmare of the Year Personal Ensign (Private Account).

“This horse is extremely talented and very good looking,” trainer Shug
McGaughey said. “As well as the sons of Pulpit are doing at stud, with his
talent, looks and pedigree, I think he will make a very good stallion. And at
this fee, he’s certainly a great value.”
