Super Saver ranks as 7-1 pick in advance Derby wagering

Grade 2 winner SUPER SAVER (Maria’s Mon), who started off as the
15-1 co-ninth choice on the morning line, has been bet down to 7-1 favoritism
for Saturday’s Kentucky Derby (G1), as reflected in on-track wagering at
Churchill Downs on Friday.

Coming next in the early-bird wagering at 9-1 is champion and three-time
Grade 1 victor LOOKIN AT LUCKY (Smart Strike), who was assigned 3-1 favoritism
on the morning line. Super Saver and Lookin at Lucky are the only two wagering
interests at single-digit odds.

Four runners have been bet down to 11-1: Florida Derby (G1) king ICE BOX
(Pulpit); Grade 3 scorer and Blue Grass S. (G1) runner-up PADDY O’PRADO (El
Prado [Ire]); the Grade 1-winning filly DEVIL MAY CARE (Malibu Moon); and Santa
Anita Derby (G1) hero SIDNEY’S CANDY (Candy Ride [Arg]), who will enter the
Derby undefeated in 2010 from three starts.

Lookin at Lucky commands the lowest paying Oaks/Derby double ($2) with Blind
Luck (Pollard’s Vision), yielding a return of $22.40. The Blind Luck/Super Saver double will pay $56.60.
