Globetrotting sprinter KINSALE KING (Yankee Victor) is scheduled to
return home to Hollywood Park from England next Wednesday, according to
trainer Carl O’Callaghan.

“He gets here on the 21st,”  O’Callaghan said.

Kinsale King, who captured the March 27 Dubai Golden Shaheen (UAE-G1)
on the Tapeta at Meydan, tried to transfer his world-class speed to the
turf in his English foray. After a terrific third to Starspangledbanner
(Choisir) in the June 19 Golden Jubilee S. (Eng-G1) at Royal Ascot, the
five-year-old gelding faded to 12th in a field of 14 in last Friday’s
July Cup (Eng-G1) at Newmarket.

“They had an unusual heat wave there, and the ground was terribly
hard and stinging his feet,” O’Callaghan noted.

“We’ve got his feet under control,” the trainer added. “After he gets
back, we’ll probably turn him out for three weeks at Sunshine Farm in
Bradbury (California).

“Then we’ll try to get him ready for the Ancient Title S. ([G1]
on October 9 at
Oak Tree) and the Breeders’ Cup (Sprint [G1] on November 6 at Churchill
Downs).”

Kinsale King has become an international celebrity on three continents. He
won the Vernon Underwood S. (G3) at Hollywood in December and the Palos Verdes
H. (G2) at Santa Anita in January before shipping to Dubai.

Owned by Sheehy LLC, Kinsale King has amassed $1,478,920 in earnings from his
10-5-0-2 line.
