Trainer David Fawkes reported Sunday that BIG DRAMA (Montbrook) was feeling fine after
his track record-breaking performance in Saturday’s Mr. Prospector S. (G3)
at Gulfstream Park.

Big Drama, bred and owned by Harold Queen, registered a dazzling four-length
victory after devouring six furlongs in 1:08.12 and eclipsing Tiger’s 2006
mark of 1:08.46. It was the Eclipse Award finalist’s first start since
capturing the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) at Churchill Downs on November 6.

“He always does stuff like that,” Fawkes said. “I didn’t think about him
breaking a track record, but he ran huge.”

The five-year-old dark bay, whose 10th victory in 17 starts increased
his bankroll to just shy of $2.7 million, is widely expected to be named the
champion sprinter of 2010 at Monday evening’s Eclipse Awards Dinner at the
Fontainebleau in Miami.

“I expect him to win it,” Fawkes admitted. “I want the horse to win it for him…and Mr. Queen. They deserve it.”

Fawkes also reported that Duke of Mischief (Graeme Hall) is being pointed to the $500,000
Sunshine Millions Classic at Gulfstream on January 29. The chestnut five-year-old, who captured last year’s Oaklawn Park H. (G2) and
Philip H. Iselin
S. (G3) at Monmouth Park, worked five furlongs in 1:02 2/5 on Saturday.

“He had an OK work, not great,” Fawkes said. “He’s doing super. He’ll have
one more work, probably next Saturday. It doesn’t take much to get him fit.”
