The yearling colt I’M BUYIN’ (Congrats) brought a final bid of $100,000 from
F H M B to lead all offerings at the first session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales
Company’s Winter Mixed Sale in Ocala, Florida, on Tuesday. Offered by Andy Cant,
agent, the March 17-foaled Florida-bred toured the ring as Hip No. 69.
I’m Buyin’ was produced by the winning Toasttofriendship (Salt Lake), a
half-sister to the Grade 3-placed Sweet Storm Creek (Storm Creek). The
session-topper descends from Adam’s Angel (Halo), the second dam of Grade 2 turf
winners Profit Option (Alleged) and Irish Warrior (Irish River [Fr]).
YES SHE’S WILD (Yes It’s True), a yearling filly offered by Montgomery Equine
Center, agent, was gaveled down to Blue River Bloodstock for $55,000. Foaled on
January 31 in Louisiana, the bay sported Hip 83.
Produced by the stakes-placed Wildcard Cat (Forest Wildcat), Yes She’s Wild
counts as second dam the three-time stakes winner Clever Kat (Comet Kat).
At the conclusion of Tuesday’s Consignor Preferred session of the two-day
auction, 113 horses had sold for $1,399,400, an increase of 55.5 percent over
last year’s corresponding session when $900,000 was realized from the sale of 92
horses. The session average rose 26.6 percent, from $9,783 to $12,384.
