While the field of colts and geldings being pointed for the Lecomte
S. (G3) on Fair Grounds’ January 22 Road to the Derby Kickoff Day is
still taking shape, the three-year-old fillies being considered for the
$100,000 Silverbulletday S. on that same afternoon is more defined.

This year’s newly-named Silverbulletday is now the first leg of the
sophomore filly series and was run last year as the Tiffany Lass. Last
season’s Silverbulletday S., the middle leg of that series, has been
renamed the Rachel Alexandra S. (G3) and will be run February 19. The
final leg, the Fair Grounds Oaks (G2), remains with the same name and
will be contested on Louisiana Derby Day, March 26.

Trainer Steve Margolis has two fillies possible for the upcoming
Silverbulletday.

“I have one named LITTLE MISS HOLLY (Maria’s Mon) and another named BOUQUET
BOOTH (Flower Alley),” Margolis said on Sunday. “I’m thinking about the
Silverbulletday for both of them.”

Little Miss Holly broke her maiden with a six-length win at the New Orleans
venue on December 9 while Bouquet Booth captured her initial win at Keeneland on
October 15 and won the Delta Princess S. (G3) at Delta Downs on November 20.

Canadian trainer Josie Carroll is also thinking about the Silverbulletday
with two of her trainees.

“Right now I’m planning on the Silverbulletday for a filly I have named
Inglorious (Hennessy),” she said, “but I’m also thinking about running another
filly I have named ACHIEVING (Bernardini) in there.”

Inglorious is undefeated after two starts over Woodbine’s Polytrack course,
breaking her maiden at first asking in the October 24 Fanfreluche S. and adding
the Ontario Lassie S. to her resume on December 4. Achieving finished fourth in
her career debut at Fair Grounds on January 2.

Also being pointed for the Silverbulletday, according to trainer Al Stall
Jr., is AIDE (Arch), who breezed five furlongs in 1:00 3/5 on Saturday at Fair
Grounds. The bay lass was last seen running fourth in the November 27 Golden Rod
S. (G2) at Churchill Downs.
