The second Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s March Sale
of Two-Year-Olds in Training in Ocala, Florida, concluded Saturday. The session
featured Hip No.’s 245-490.
Two juveniles completed a quarter-mile in :20 3/5. The first was Hip 265, a
New York-bred son of Flatter out of the unraced Quiet American mare Silence
Please. Consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent, the March 6-foaled colt is a
half-brother to stakes winner Sky Music (Sky Mesa).
Hip 387, a Dixie Union filly foaled February 23, went in the same time. Also
offered by Eisaman Equine, the Maryland-bred lass is out of the multiple
stakes-placed Big City Dream (Horatius), making her a half-sister to the
multiple stakes-placed Baena (El Prado [Ire]).
Three fillies tied for the best one-furlong time of :9 4/5. Hip 302, by Yes
It’s True, was produced by the winning Sunrise Summer (Summer Squall) and is
from the family of multiple Grade 2 winner Sunny Sunrise. The April 3 foal is
consigned by Harris Training Center, agent.
Hip 332, from the first crop of Grade 1 winner Henny Hughes went in the same
time. Consigned by Jerry Bailey Sales Agency, agent, the May 1 foal is a
half-sister to current Canadian Grade 2 winner Grand Adventure (Grand Slam).
Produced by Val Marie (Coronado’s Quest), she is from the family of Grade 1
winners Lakeway (Seattle Slew), Mushka (Empire Maker) and Saratoga Six (Alydar).
The last to register the top eighth-mile time was Hip 430, from the first
crop of Grade 1 winner Bob and John. The May 3 foal, consigned by Hoppel’s Horse
and Cattle Co., agent, is out of the Grade 2-placed Chirimoya (Cobra King) from
the family of Grade 1 victor For Certain Doc (Doc Sylvester).
The March Sale is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday with each session
beginning at 11 a.m. (ET). The Day of Champions Races will be run on Monday with
first post time at 1:00 p.m.
