The TwinSpires.com Online Handicapping Series begins this week. This is a
“series” of contests every Thursday through Saturday, now until October.
Thursday and Friday are $10 buy-in satellites for Saturday, which means the top
finishers win free entry(s) into the Saturday event, which is a $50 buy-in
contest.
The contests are based on mandatory races that all participants must make
selections from, and the highest bankrolls based on mythical (fake) $2 Win/Place
wagers determines the winners.
The last week of each month, the entry fees for the weekday and Saturday
contests are $25 and $200, respectively. In the $200 event on the final
Saturday, the top finisher wins a trip to the 2012 National Handicapping
Championship (NHC) in Las Vegas.
In the Saturday contests, 50 percent of the paid entry fees are paid out to
the top 15 finishers, and the other 50 percent gets carried over to the prize
pool on November 19.
The TwinSpires.com Online Handicapping Series leads to our big annual
tournament on November 19 where we will send a total of 50 players to the two
big Las Vegas championships in early 2012. There is also a $100,000 guaranteed
top prize for that contest, which is a $1,000 buy-in event.
