Last updated: 11/26/12 3:01 PM

Gulfstream Park will kick off its meet Saturday with Breakfast at Gulfstream,
a family-friendly event that once again allows the public to attend Saturday
morning workouts while enjoying a breakfast buffet trackside and meeting special
guests.

Sandy Bruno, a former assistant to legendary Hall of Fame trainer Woody
Stephens and currently assistant to Phil Gleaves, will host the popular
breakfasts each Saturday morning. Bruno will kick off the Saturday morning
series with jockey Joe Bravo and track announcer Larry Collmus as her special
guests.

Breakfast at Gulfstream runs from 7-10 a.m. (EST). Anyone purchasing a buffet
will get a Breakfast at Gulfstream t-shirt and the opportunity to take a tour
through Gulfstream’s barn area with Bruno.

Bruno, who has hosted stable tours in the past at Gulfstream, was an
assistant under Stephens from 1982-97. She is now assistant trainer to the
popular Gleaves, who also worked for Stephens.

“Breakfast at Gulfstream has been a unique opportunity over the past two
seasons for our fans to watch and meet some of the world’s greatest
Thoroughbreds, trainers and jockeys,” Gulfstream President Tim Ritvo said.
“Spending the morning at the racetrack watching hundreds of horses galloping
across the track is a special time. The Saturday breakfast, which has become a
tradition at Gulfstream, is a wonderful way for families and fans to kick off
their Saturday morning, and Sandy will bring a wealth of knowledge.”

Along with Breakfast at Gulfstream, opening day will feature the popular
calendar giveaway as well as the first of five commemorative pin giveaways
during the season. First race post is 12:45 p.m. Opening day will also feature
the 14th running of the $850,000 Claiming Crown and the 10-cent Claiming Crown
Pick 7 with a guaranteed pool of $100,000 and a mandatory payout.
