Jeff Coady, the prominent racetrack photographer, passed away Sunday evening
in Luling, Texas, after a long battle with cancer. He was 62.

A native of Scottsdale, Arizona, Coady started working for his father’s
company, Coady Photography, at the age of 14. Working with his older brother,
Jack Jr., they dedicated their lives to Coady Photography and the horse racing
industry.

Jeff followed his passion of horse racing photography and traveled around
North America working at various racetracks. He began with Turf Paradise in
Arizona and racetracks throughout western Canada, and continued onto some of the
most prestigious tracks in the country — Oaklawn Park in Arkansas and Keeneland
in Kentucky.

Over the last 10 years, Jeff worked alongside his loving wife Nelda at
various racetracks. Three of his four boys — Shawn, Kevin and Kurtis — also
work for the company. Coady is survived by them, another son, Christopher, as
well as brothers Jack Jr. and Clay.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Luling at 1:00
p.m. on September 4. In lieu of flowers, Coady’s family request that donations
be made to the Oaklawn Park Chaplaincy, P.O. Box 20564, Hot Springs, Arkansas
71903 and/or the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 90, Luling, Texas 78648.

Memorials will also be held at Oaklawn Park and in Arizona at a later date.
