Ria Antonia breezes half-mile

Ria Antonia will square off

against the boys in the Risen Star on February 22

(Breeders' Cup LTD.)

Loooch Racing et al.'s Ria Antonia, the three-year-old filly being pointed

for a face-off against male sophomores in the Grade 2 Risen Star Stakes on

Louisiana Derby Preview Day February 22 at Fair Grounds, breezed a half-mile in

company Sunday morning in :48 2/5.

The move, originally scheduled for Saturday, was postponed due to the

projected more favorable track conditions Sunday morning.

"The track was sloppy when I got here yesterday morning," said Elizabeth

Dobles, assistant to trainer Jeremiah Englehart and in charge of Ria Antonia's

preparations until the trainer arrives in early February. "Even after the break

it was still a little off yesterday.

"She worked in company with (Jeremiah Englehart owned and trained) Hebert

Hall this morning in 48 and two. I thought it was a very good work for her."

Hebert Hall is a six-year-old Officer gelding who Englehart

claimed for $12,500 off of New York leading trainer David Jacobson on November 30 at

Aqueduct.
