NYRA unveils Belmont Stakes logo

The New York Racing Association (NYRA) has released
the logo for the 2014 Belmont Stakes, which will be contested for the 146th time
on June 7 at Belmont Park.

The logo features the Manhattan skyline in a design that
forms the shape of the crown of the Statue of Liberty. Centering the skyline is
the iconic Empire State Building. In front of the crown is the silhouette of a
horse and jockey, and below are the name of the race and its date and location.

“The primary objective was to create a logo that reinforces
our New York connection,” said Rodnell Workman, NYRA vice president and chief
marketing officer. “We believe this design provides that, both with the New York
skyline and the nod to the Statue of Liberty.”

The 2014 Belmont Stakes logo was designed by Kevin House of
Kevin Creative.
