Darley has announced that it has purchased a majority interest in the
three-year-old colt, Cairo Prince, a runaway winner of the Holy Bull at
Gulfstream Park on January 25. The colt will stay in the barn of current trainer
Kiaran McLaughlin and race in the colors of Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin Stable,
along with owners Terry Murray, Paul Braverman, Harvey A. Clarke and Craig W.
Robertson III.

Prior to his Holy Bull victory, Cairo Prince had registered two wins from
three starts, including a victory in the Nashua at Aqueduct. His lone defeat
came in the Remsen where he was caught at the wire, losing by just a nose, in
his final start of 2013.

“We are excited to be involved with such a promising three-year-old at this
time of the year, and it is also special that our longtime trainer is handling
the horse and we have the opportunity to share this excitement with the colt’s
current owners,” said Jimmy Bell, President of Darley America.

Terry Murray, spokesman for the current owners, was equally excited when he
said, “We are very pleased to be aligned and in partnership with one of the
preeminent Thoroughbred racing and breeding operations in the world.”

Cairo Prince’s next start is likely the Florida Derby on March 29.
