Arlington
plans special events during ‘Summer of Fun’

A food truck festival, two wine festivals and special days
honoring Chicago’s top sports teams are just some of the highlights of the
special events planned for the 89-day season at Arlington International
Racecourse that begins Friday, May 2.

From fireworks to concerts to wine tastings, to celebrity appearances
and the chance to see some of the top Thoroughbreds from around the world
competing, there’s something for everyone at Arlington, which celebrates the
25th anniversary of its marvelous facility.

The centerpiece of this year’s “Summer of Fun” is August 16 with the International Festival of Racing featuring the 32nd running
of the world renowned Arlington Million. In addition, June 28 will mark the 25th
anniversary of the opening of the current Arlington grandstand, still hailed as
one of the world’s best racecourse facilities.

“Arlington is a premier entertainment venue and
entertaining our customers is our mission,” Arlington General Manager Tony Petrillo
said.
“We are proud to bring world class Thoroughbred racing to Chicagoland,
and we are also proud to offer a menu of fun for the whole family built around
our great racing. We suggest our customers go to

p.m. (CDT) post time for Arlington’s races leading up the “most exciting two minutes in
sports.” The first 1,000 fans through the gates on Derby Day will receive
an official Kentucky Derby 140 glass.

The time leading up to the Derby will be filled with Mint
Juleps, music, prizes and contests. It’s a chance to party in the exclusive
“Derby Party Zone” where guests can walk the red carpet with fabulous food and
drink in one all-inclusive package. It’s like going to the Kentucky Derby
without leaving Chicago.

There will also be a chance for a lucky customer to win with the “Grand Ultimate Derby Bet,” which gives a fan a chance to make a $1,000
win bet on the Kentucky Derby.

Tickets are on sale for the entire Arlington
International season, including all of Arlington’s Big Event Days. Fans are
