5-2 morning-line favorite for Kentucky Derby 140 after drawing post position 5
in Wednesday’s Derby draw.

The Art Sherman-trained chestnut is one of only four on the morning-line
with single-digit odds. Hoppertunity, who was assigned post 11, was the 6-1
second pick but scratched on Thursday with a foot problem.

Mike Battaglia, the morning-line oddsmaker at Churchill Downs, revised his
original odds following the news and made Wicked Strong is the second favorite at
6-1. The TwinSpires.com Wood Memorial winner drew post 20 on Wednesday but will
now break from the 19 post in the auxiliary gate as also-eligible Pablo del
Monte draws into the field and takes up the far outside gate.

Wicked Strong was a nice 3 1/2-length victor of the Wood , which
catapulted him into the Derby for trainer Jimmy Jerkens. Before that, the best
the Hard Spun colt had finished in a stakes was third in last year’s Remsen.

Vicar’s In Trouble drew the 1 post under Rosie Napravnik, who is trying to
become the first female rider to win the Kentucky Derby.

Battaglia made Danza and Intense Holiday, originally 10-1 and 12-1 on the
morning-line, the co-third choices at 8-1 after Hoppertunity’s scratch. He also
dropped Tapiture’s odds from 15-1 to 12-1 and Candy Boy is now listed at 15-1
after opening at 20-1.
