Dissident highlights Sir Rupert Clarke, but has bigger
targets coming up

Trainer Peter Moody enjoyed a long spell in the spotlight thanks to the exploits of Black
Caviar and Australian Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy before her, and the leading Victorian
conditioner looks to have another superstar on his hands in Dissident,
who aims for his third straight Group 1 — and fourth overall — in Sunday’s
A$400,000 Sir Rupert
Clarke at Caulfield.

The now four-year-old son of Sebring earned his first victory at the highest
level in last season’s Group 1 Randwick Guineas, and after finishing off the board in the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas
and Group 1 Doncaster Mile to round out the season, he has gone two-for-two in this season’s Group 1 Memsie
on August 30 and Group 1 Makybe Diva on September 13.

Moody has warned, however, that his
latest stable star is being primed for greater targets later in the season.

“Punters have got to be aware that’s he’s being trained
for the (Group 1) Caulfield Stakes (on October 11) and the (Group 1) Cox Plate
(on October 26),” Moody told
Racenet.com.au. “He’s not being trained for the
(Sir) Rupert Clarke; it’s the race on the way through.
I think everyone has got to be quite mindful of that.”

Moody will also saddle A Time For Julia, a dual Group 3-winning daughter of Redoute’s
Choice who finished second in
the August 30 Cockram and September 20 Sportingbet Sprint, both Group 3s at Caulfield.

Sweet Idea is another filly who has been performing with consistency in
group company, but is also seeking her first win at the highest level. The Snitzel
filly has been placed in
Group 1 company three times, most recently finishing second to Dissident in the Memsie.

Late
Charge has gone two-for-two this season, with a most recent victory in the
September 13 listed Sofitel at Flemington, but he will have to continue
improving to hit the board at this level. Cluster has won three of his last four starts
and stamped himself as one to watch last out with a victory in the Group 2 Theo Marks.
