Shared Belief (Candy Ride) exited his dominating 4 1/4-length triumph in
Saturday’s Santa Anita H. (G1) in good order according to trainer Jerry
Hollendorfer, who nixed any remaining notions of the four-year-old gelding
making an overseas trip on March 28.
“No, we’re not going to Dubai,” Hollendorfer said in reference to the $10
million Dubai World Cup (UAE-G1). “There are lots of races in this country to
run in with plenty big enough purses. We just don’t want to make a trip over
there.
“He came out of the race very good,” Hollendorfer added. “We’re very grateful
to have a good horse like him.”
In a radio interview on Mike Willman’s “Thoroughbred Los
Angeles” Sunday morning on AM 830, KLAA, the horseman said that the $600,000 Oaklawn H.
(G2) going nine furlongs on April 11 would likely be next for his stable
superstar.

“He’s a once-in-a-lifetime horse,” said Dan Ward,
Hollendorfer’s valued assistant. “You won’t see another like him.”
