The $100,000

Transylvania (G3)
and three other races were washed out on Keeneland’s
opening day, April 3, but the 1 1/16-mile turf fixture for three-year-olds makes
a return to the schedule Wednesday.

The field for the re-drawn Transylvania came up smaller in numbers, but Luck
of the Kitten (Kitten’s Joy) might still retain the role of
favorite even after the 12-day delay. Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s homebred will be making his season debut after
a strong juvenile campaign, which was highlighted by a win in the $101,000 Zuma
Beach at Santa Anita and a close second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1)
over the same course.

Breaking from post 1 in the Transylvania, the speedster might only have to
contend with Tuba (Magna Graduate) for early supremacy. That rival led
wire-to-wire in the $60,000 Black Gold at Fair Grounds last time, upsetting that
about 7 1/2-furlong grass test at 63-1.

Also expected to garner significant wagering support in the Transylvania is
Night Prowler (Giant’s Causeway), the Dania Beach (G3) winner who encountered a
rough stretch run in the Palm Beach (G3) on March 7. The even-money favorite
there, Chad Brown’s gelding was forced to steady at the furlong pole and was
severely compromised while settling for fifth,

A Lot (Tapit), runner-up to Night Prowler by a half-length in the Dania Beach
in early January, rebounded to take an entry-level allowance by 3 3/4 lengths
over the Gulfstream turf next out for Bill Mott. John Velazquez, who has ridden
him in his past two starts, retains the mount.

Also lining up are Majestico (Majesticperfection), who broke his maiden over
this course last October but has been unplaced in three subsequent outings on
dirt, as well as the maiden turf winners Saham (Lemon Drop Kid) and Top of the
Page (Parading).
