California Chrome likely out for rest of the year
Horse of the Year California Chrome (Lucky Pulpit), who just returned from
England to prepare for the August 15 Arlington Million (G1), has been ruled out
of the Chicago showpiece -- and probably the rest of the 2015 season -- due to a
cannon bone issue.
DAP Racing posted the news late Sunday afternoon on Facebook, revealing that
the popular California-bred had undergone X-rays Saturday, and the diagnosis was
"cannon bone inflammation."
According to further reports on social media, the 2014 Kentucky Derby (G1)
and Preakness (G1) winner's racing career may be over. For more, see the
