Live Oak Plantation’s homebred World Approval (Northern Afleet) overhauled
pacesetter Nun the Less (Candy Ride) turning for home and gamely withstood the
late bid of Crittenden (Distorted Humor) in Saturday’s $100,000
American Derby (G3) at Arlington, registering his first graded stakes
victory and confirming his status as a top contender for the August 15
Secretariat (G1).
Jose Lezcano had the mount on the Mark Casse-trained gelding.
