Taris (Flatter) returns to competition on Sunday in the $100,000
Rancho Bernardo H. (G3) at Del Mar after being off since late December.
The four-year-old miss suffered a right-front ankle injury when running
second by a half-length in the December 26 La Brea S. (G1) and underwent surgery
just a few days following that event. Trainer Simon Callaghan took his time with
the bay filly and Taris has responded with some nice moves since returning to
the worktab in late June, including a bullet five-furlong work on August 2 over
the track.
Gary Stevens has the call as Taris faces La Brea winner Sam’s Sister (Brother
Derek) once again in the Rancho Bernardo.
