Two-time Horse of the Year
Wise Dan, readying for his comeback in the September 13 Woodbine Mile (G1),
breezed five furlongs in a bullet :59 at Keeneland on Tuesday morning, his
sixth move since returning to the worktab on July 17. The eight-year-old gelded
son of Wiseman’s Ferry was sidelined by a non-displaced fracture near his right
front ankle last October.
Trainer Charlie LoPresti is targeting the October 31 Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1)
at Keeneland for Wise Dan, who captured back-to-back runnings of the Mile at
Santa Anita in 2012-13. The six-time Eclipse Award winner has won his last 14
starts on turf and earned $7,552,920 from a 31-23-2-0 career record.
