Commerce remained strong during the 10th session of the
Keeneland September Yearling Sale on Thursday, led by the sale of Hip No. 3164, a Colonel John
colt who brought $170,000.

Keeneland sold 283 yearlings for $6,513,000 on Thursday,
nearly equal to the corresponding session in 2014 when 289 horses grossed
$6,626,500. The average of $23,014 was up from last year’s $22,929, while the
median of $17,000 remained the same.

Cumulative figures through 10 sessions of the 12-day sale
indicate solid trade. Keeneland has sold 2,359 horses for $276,960,300, slightly
ahead of last year’s 11-day gross of $275,421,500 for 2,442 yearlings. The
average of $117,406 rose 4.1 percent over last year’s $112,785. The median of
$65,000 was 8.33 percent higher than the $60,000 in 2014.

Wendy Noel Sales, agent, consigned the session-topping
Colonel John colt who is out of the winning Forest Wildcat mare Wildcat Dreamer.
The colt is from the family of stakes winners Western Dreamer (Gone West) and Cash for
Clunkers (Tiznow).

Hip 3332, a colt by Warrior’s Reward, brought the day’s second-highest
price, selling for $160,000 to Alex Solis II and Jason Litt. Consigned by Lane’s
End, agent, the bay yearling is out of the winning Olmodavor mare Indypicture,
who is herself a
daughter of Grade 1 winner Family Enterprise (Tri Jet).

The September Sale runs through Saturday. All sessions
begin at 10 a.m. (EDT) and are streamed live at keeneland.com.
